From stagnant to on fire: Teaming up for social media results

Media projects work better and have better results when you collaborate with a website and social media team that specializes in quality communication and knows how to get results.

When we teamed up with one community organization, their social media and website traffic was stagnant. We established a plan that involved website content revisions and strategic social media posts.

Here’s what happened:

In the two week period that we ran our campaign, Boiling Pot and the client both made Facebook posts. Boiling Pot’s posts were substantially more impactful, with around 5 times more views and clicks.

The impressions and clicks made a direct impact on the website performance, too. During our campaign, website visits (“sessions”) increased by 35%.

And, not only did the number of visitors increase, but the origins of visitors diversified. Prior to our campaign, 91% of visitors came to the client’s website via a google search and single digit percentages came from typing the client’s web address or from following a link-out from another site.

During the campaign, google searches made up only half of the results. While previously no website visits came from social media referrals, during the campaign, social media activity resulted in 29% of the website’s resultant traffic.
