Oct 8, 2013
To get to the WordPress Slider Plugin, navigate down to Slider on your admin Panel.
When you click in, either choose to modify an existing slider, or create a new one. The resulting page will be made up of four sections. The first three sections include Slider Settings, Slider Example, and Slider Code. Slider settings allow you to configure the behavior of your slider. Slider Example demonstrates how your settings will work (but does not use your slider images). The embed code that you for the slider is in the Slider Code section. This code must be placed in the theme files themselves.
The fourth section of the page is the slider content manager. Let’s add a new slide to this slider by clicking “Add New Slide”.
A new slide panel appears. First – upload your slider image. This plugin does not support the Media Library – you’ll need to upload the image from your computer.
Second, if it’s desired, add a title and content to your slider. The title will appear larger and above the content. By default, the language appears over the slider image on the upper right corner. A little bit of CSS can change the look and layout contact me if you need assistance.
Finally, if it’s desired, add a URL to the slider so that your users can click the image to navigate to more relevant content. You probably want to set the “Target” to self. Other options include new window or tab.
This panel also will allow you to set the display order of slides.
When the settings are all configured, save your changes (the “Save Changes” button is pictured in the third image of this article.
